I am Sir Blake A (Alta Christiano N.) made his local debut after a three-week layoff Saturday night (June 11) at the Saratoga Casino Hotel. Im Sir Blake A made his Spa debut in Saturday’s $16,000 Open Pace and was awarded the outside post in the five-horse event. He was led to the Open score by Shawn Gray.

Veteran Artful Way (Billy Dobson) cut the mile in the feature and was pushed to the limit by an early offer from favorite Belmont Major N (Leon Bailey) while Im Sir Blake A followed his cover into the final corner .

The invader moved on to take the lead in the stretch and had enough to resist a late offer from Apex Seelster (Jimmy Devaux) who ended up runner-up to Im Sir Blake A who called 5, $50 to win as the 8-5 second choice in the bet.

The exacta with Apex Seelster brought in $17 while the triple, which was completed by Belmont Major N, returned $29.60.

Im Sir Blake A, owned by Doug Overhiser of Shorewood, IL, ran the mile in 1:51.2, a final time that is the fastest for any horse this season at Saratoga.
