Outdoor swimming pool renamed after agreement with Aquatera

The City of Grande Prairie has entered into an agreement with Aquatera Utilities Inc. for the naming rights to the outdoor pool at Muskoseepi Park. The pool is now known as the Aquatera Outdoor Pool.

“Signing Aquatera as the naming rights partner for one of the city’s legacy recreational facilities is a major moment for Grande Prairie,” said Mayor Jackie Clayton. “These partnerships help improve our offerings and create more affordable, accessible and inclusive communities for all our residents, while demonstrating the positive impact of engaging relationships with our stakeholders.”

The partnership is a five-year agreement and the city and the organization believe it will benefit the entire community.

“Aquatera is thrilled to be working with the City of Grande Prairie on this important partnership that allows us to contribute to the vibrancy of our community,” said Vaughn Bend, General Manager of Aquatera Utilities Inc. “We look forward to a positive review impact that aligns with our primary goal of building healthy communities.

The city celebrated the 60th anniversary of the outdoor pool this weekend. The swimming pool includes a paddling pool, zero beach, Spanish steps and water lily islands, green space and a leisure picnic area and a water slide.
